From the Facility Representative

Since its founding by the great Buddhist monk Saicho, Enryakuji Temple's Konpon Chudo Hall has served as a place of prayer for the protection of the Heian-kyo Capital (former name of Kyoto), as well as daily memorial services for the protection of the nation which are still held today.

The ""eternal light"" that has not been extinguished for 1,200 years since it was lit by Saicho is enshrined within the Konpon Chudo Hall, and continues to be lit before a statue of the Yakushi Nyorai Buddha.

Holding a MICE event at this long-standing historic location will be a special experience for participants both from Japan and abroad.

Various events are also held in each season, and visitors can enjoy the changing nature of the four seasons, such as maple trees in autumn and cherry blossoms and fresh greenery in spring.

We look forward to welcoming you to Enryakuji Temple, a one-stop location where everything from conventions to excursions and accommodations can be held.
